A Peaceful Home for Elephants
A Gentle Escape for You
Khaolak Elephant Home began by rescuing a group of three young female elephants, aged between 3 to 5 years old. These elephants were previously used to sell food such as sugarcane, bananas, and corn on the streets of Bangkok. The rescue was prompted by a tragic incident where a male elephant from the same group, owned by the same person as one of the young elephants, was electrocuted and died.
Following the rescue, the team organized age-appropriate activities for the elephants, such as bathing programs. After about a year of running these activities, they were able to save enough money to purchase one of the elephants, Pang Wasana, who became the first official elephant of Khao Lak Elephant Home.
However, in 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, forcing the other two elephants to be relocated. As a result, Pang Wasana remained and became the first permanent resident of Khao Lak Elephant Home.

Wir besuchen das Camp sehr gerne. Letztes Jahr haben wir mit Sandy gebadet und sie diese Jahr wieder besucht. Allen Elefanten geht es gut und die Guides sind super nett.
